Rebooting the blog without bringing the archive
So in the interest of rebooting the blog on Tumblr, I wanted to import my previous posts from Wordpress or Posterous to here so I could keep everything in one place. Unfortunately, Tumblr does not currently have a way to import from other sites. I think I understand the technical reasons that make it difficult, but it’s disappointing nonetheless.
So I think in lieu of a better solution, I’m going to periodically dig through the other archives and repost some of the entries that I like the most. This isn’t an ideal solution, but I think it will be fun to revisit things from the last 6-7 years of occasional blogging.
I may also include a link to the archives on other sites in the forthcoming About page. Whatever. I’ve rethought what I want out of a blog, and most of that stuff on the other sites probably doesn’t work in the new structure anyway. That’s why I’m on Tumblr in the first place.
